This evening our Club had our quarterly meeting. Attendance was surprisingly robust. I must admit, I had my reservations about attending due to past disappointments due to the conduct of a very few members. Judging by the fresh new faces and coordinated interaction I had with members it was indeed a breath of fresh air. As I stated to everyone in attendance my desire is to offer anyone help in any way I can. The use of an auxiliary shooting platform at the Rio Range was long overdue. Thanks John D. for your prototype shooting platform and generous offer to share your plans and design. The overall size of the platform was established to not exceed 24 inches wide by 32 inches in length. Let's all take a collective deep breath and constantly improve our great sport by sharing new ideas. I want to personally thank each and everyone one of you for your friendship. A new competive season is underway and judging by last years scores competition is spirited.
Jim R. You asked me personally this evening..... "What do you want to do with the forum." I said I would answer you in this forum and here it is.
My answer is, this is a very valuable vehicle to use to keep members connected. I do encourage members to not just read posts but drop a small note. This is the best way to stay linked together.
Semper Fi Jim Falotico See you on the line.

Jim, I admire you for your desire to teach and help anyone who asks for it or that you feel (by observation) can use it without hesitation. I have appreciated your help and guidance on many occasions and I know there are many others who feel the same way. You always put others ahead of yourself and you love doing it. You offer any of your personal property to others without hesitation. I say "Thank you Jim for all that you do."
Your friend, John Dahman

Jim, , I agree with everything John said about you. You are a great asset to the club, your competitive shooting background and knowledge of proper shooting techniques (stance, hold, breathing, trigger control, aiming) is exactly the type of instruction that lot of the newer shooters need. A lot of us old time shooters continue to learn from your vast well of knowledge also.
Thanks for your presentation of of the old rules and new rules regarding shooting platforms, and background on the Rio range. I think that really provided a good picture so everyone could understand the problems with the current shooting bench at Rio and the need for the "Portable Shooting Platform" I hope the club continues to pursue with the Rec. Department to upgrade the Rio range, and make it more like Soaring Eagle including getting a couple of fans to help you guys out in this heat.
Good job my friend!
Dale

Shooters and friends:
Our shooting sport is a very gratifying activity. My desire has been and always will be to encourage members to get the most enjoyment they can by offering help in any way to improve. That approach can only be achieved when we all agree to make improvements for the benifit of all. Our club is strong, healthy and pro-active. Dale, thanks for your kind words.
I see growth and improvement in our members achievements/skill. In the near future I would like to introduce a competition program that would allow us to compete with other clubs throughout the USA and we never leave THE VILLAGES. Hmmmmmm........ Hint?
